Abstract
NYS. KURNIA RIZQI D, The Effect of Use Coffee Grounds Organic Fertilizer on The Growth And Yield Of Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) (Supervised by MUHAMMAD AMMAR). The aim of this research was to know the effect of coffee grounds as organic fertilizer on lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.). This research was conducted from November to December, 2020, at Palembang, South Sumatera, used a randomized block design with 11 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were P0 (without coffee grounds organic fertilizer), P1 (10 g solid coffee grounds), P2 (20 g solid coffee grounds), P3 (30 g solid coffee grounds), P4 (40 g solid coffee grounds), P5 (50 g solid coffee grounds), P6 (100 ml liquid coffee grounds), P7 (150 ml liquid coffee grounds), P8 (200 ml liquid coffee grounds), P9 (250 ml liquid coffee grounds), P10 (300 ml liquid coffee grounds). The parameters observed in this study were plant height, number of leaves, crown's fresh weight, crown's dry weight, root's fresh weight, root's dry weight, root length, leaf's greenness level and organoleptic test. The results showed that coffee grounds organic fertilizer only had a significant effect on the root length parameter, P4 treatment (40 g solid coffee grounds) was the best treatment because it had the highest value on several parameters, namely on the fresh weight of the crown, root length, and greenness of the leaves, on the organoleptic test parameters plants with P6 treatment (100 ml of pulp), liquid coffee is much preferred because of its taste that is not bitter.
