Abstract

The purpose of the study were to determine the effect of giving decanter solid and compost of oil palm empty fruit bunches to the growth and yield of oil palm and to find the right dose of a mixture of decanter solid and composted empty fruit bunches of oil palm for 12 year old Marihat oil palm on dry land. This research was conducted from January to June 2021. the Oil Palm Research Garden, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. Research used Randomized Block Design (RBD) with for applicationand 6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments in this study were : P0 (without compost), P1 (decanter solid 20 kg), P2 (decanter solid 15 kg + compost of empty palm oil bunches 5 kg), P3 (decanter solid 10 kg + compost 10 kg of oil palm empty fruit bunches compost), P4 (5 kg solid decanter + 15 kg of oil palm empty fruit bunch compost), P5 (20 kg of oil palm empty fruit bunch compost compost). The results showed that mixing decanter solid and compost of Oil Palm Empty fruit bunches had a significant effect on the increase for number of female flowers and the number of fruit bunches. No significant effect for the number of spear leaves, the number of broken midribs, the number of male flowers, the number of chlorotic leaves, and the greenness of the leaves. To increase the number of spear leaves, female flowers and number of fruit bunches, the best treatment was P3 (10 kg solid decanter + 10 kg oil palm empty fruit bunch compost). And for increasing the number of male flowers, the best treatment was P4 (5 kg solid decanter + 15 kg oil palm empty fruit bunch compost). For the number of chlorotic midribs and the level of greenness of the leaves, the best treatment was P2 (15 kg solid decanter + 5 kg oil palm empty fruit bunch compost). The best composition of a mixture of decanter solid and compost of empty palm oil bunches was 10 kg of decanter solid and 10 kg of compost of empty fruit bunches of oil palm.
