Abstract

the city of Palembang so how the drainage management system carried out by the Public Works and Public Relations Service also needs to be investigated carefully. using the theory of Richard M Steers, the theory is used to measure how the effectiveness of the management of the Palembang City drainage system to cope with flooding by the Public Works and Public Relations Office of Palembang City consists of four dimensions, namely Organizational Characteristics, Behavioral Characteristics, Environmental Characteristics, Management Characteristics. The method used is descriptive qualitative approach. Based on the results of data analysis used from this study, it is clear that the effectiveness of drainage system management carried out by the Public Works and Public Relations Service is influenced by the four dimensions of the theory used. The state of effectiveness can be influenced by all dimensions of the theory used because the Public Works and Public Relations Office has a clear strategy to achieve the objectives, has good human resources, is socialized and always adapts to the environment. The results of this study recommend that in its implementation, management of the drainage system should improve effective communication with the public, increase the spirit of employee performance so that they are more enthusiastic at work.
