Abstract

Tanaman cabai rawit merupakan salah satu tanaman hortikultura jenis sayuran yang banyak dibudidayakan petani di Indonesia baik dalam skala rumah tangga maupun industri ekspor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perlakuan priming yang paling efektif untuk meningkatkan vigor dan viabilitas benih cabai rawit varietas bara yang telah kadaluarsa. Penelitian dilaksanakan mulai bulan Maret sampai Mei 2021 di Laboratorium Teknologi Benih dan dilanjutkan uji bibit di Rumah Kaca, Jurusan Budidaya Pertanian Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwijaya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 6 perlakuan serta 3 kali ulangan dari 2 kelompok benih kadaluarsa (K) dan belum kadaluarsa (T). Adapun A = Aquades 100%, B = Perlakuan dengan NaCl 1 gram/L, C = Perlakuan dengan KNO3 2 gram/L, D = Perlakuan dengan H2SO4 2 ml /L, E = Perlakuan dengan PEG 6000 250 gram/L, F = Perlakuan dengan Pupuk Urea 1 gram/L. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan perendaman dengan H2SO4 2 ml/L memberikan hasil terbaik pada beberapa parameter baik pada fase perkecambahan maupun pertumbuhan bibit.
