Abstract

Pure aluminum is capable of cast, but its mechanical properties are so poor. One way to improve its mechanical properties is to add other elements by casting combined with pure lead.In this study was conducted to see the effect of the addition of pure hiutam tin to the activation and oxidation energy in the powder produced by pure aluminum casting combined with pure lead at high temperatures. Research using TG / DTA Extar SII 7300, the rate of heating contstan (Ramp) 10ºC / min to reach a temperature of 900ºC using atmospheric oxygen gas (O2). The results of four (4) different samples are: Pure Al, Al+Pb2%, Al+Pb6% and Al+Pb10%. The activation energy required for oxidation of pure Al samples with a temperature range of 425-600ºC is E: 60.016.2718 kJ/mol. The sample of Al+Pb2% activation energy required for oxidation with a temperature range of 325-600ºC is E: 76.507.0908 kJ/mol. The activation energy required for oxidation in the al+pb6% sample with a temperature range of 400-600ºC is E:-44.526.4584 kJ/mol. Sample of Al+Pb10% of the energy required for oxidation with a temperature range of 350-600ºC i.e: 37.235.0804 kJ/mol. The activation energy required in the Al+Pb2% sample was greater and faster to oxidize compared to other samples E: 76,507.0908 kJ/mol. The smallest activation energy was found in the Al+Pb6% sample compared to the other sample E:-44.526.4584 kJ/mol. When using a temperature above 600ºC, it has passed the liquid point limit then there is no need for discussion.
