Abstract

Masalah penelitian ini adalah apakah dengan menggunakan model structural kemampuan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Muntok Bangka Barat dapat meningkat. Berkaitan dengan itu, penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman puisi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Muntok Bangka Barat dengan model struktural. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan secara multi siklus. Subjek penelitian 30 orang siswa kelas VIII C di SMP Negeri 3 Muntok Bangka Barat. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen : wawancara, tes awal dan tes akhir, serta observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebelum penggunaan model struktural siswa belum mampu memahami puisi. Tidak ada siswa yang memperoleh nilai > 64 (0%). Setelah model struktural digunakan dalam pembelajaran puisi pada siklus I ternyata terjadi peningkatan persentase nilai pada siswa yaitu 23,33%. Kemudian pada siklus II juga terjadi peningkatan lagi mencapai 36,67%. Lalu yang sangat mencolok yaitu pada siklus III siswa yang mendapat nilai > 64 berjumlah 60 orang. Sehingga pencapaian persentase mencapai 80,13%. Jadi, pada siklus III siswa telah mampu memahami puisi.
