Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana karakter tokoh dalam novel Pabrik karya Putu Wijaya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan karakter tokoh dalam novel pabrik karya Putu Wijaya. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan teknik yang digunakan adalah teknik conten analisys yaitu menganalisis dukumen, novel Pabrik karya Putu Wijaya sebagai dukumennya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa setiap tokoh dalam novel ini memiliki berbagai karakter. Tokoh-tokoh dalam novel ini cenderung memiliki karakter yang negatif. Karakter itu muncul karena dipengaruhi oleh faktor eksternal dan faktor internal. Tokoh-tokoh yang cenderung berkarakter positif adalah tokoh Susi, Dargo, Siyem, Babu Gaek, Robin, dan Siti. Tokoh-tokoh yang cenderung memiliki karakter yang negatif adalah tokoh Tirtoatmojo, Mat Jegug, Dringgo, Maret, Joni, Paman, Ilyas. Tatang, Istri Dringgo, dan Budi.
