Abstract

Along with the increasing need for energy, namely electric power currently occupies a very important place in national development and as one of the drivers of economic activity in the framework of a just and prosperous society. Therefore, energy supply must receive priority in the expansion of national infrastructure. The principle of development must also pay attention to effectiveness and efficiency. The need for electricity in an area increases in line with economic activities and the welfare of the local population. Energy consumption can be used as an indicator of the progress of a region. The development process shows where the movement in the region is headed. The greater the demand for electrical energy, the better the quality of the electrical system that must be developed to maintain it in the future. For this reason, it is necessary to maintain quality and quantity in planning better electrical installations. In planning the electrical system, both in operational planning and in planning for the expansion of the electrical energy system, one of the most important is the forecast to determine the demand for electrical energy within a certain period of time. Forecasting is an activity / effort to predict future conditions. In the electricity sector, forecasts are mainly made in the form of load forecasts such as peak load (MW) and demand (MWh) forecasts. Temporal forecasts can be divided into three categories: short-term, medium-term, and long-term. Many forecasting methods have been developed for forecasting, including methods based on time series (moving averages, indicators, trends) and causal relationships (regressions, ARMA, ARIMA / Bob-Jenkins, econometrics
