Abstract

SUMMARY ALHIDAYATULLAH Test of Antagonists of Several Microbial Isolates From Soil Oil Palm Plantation (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) Against Ganodermaboninese. (Supervised by SUWANDI). Soil-borne pathogens are a group of plant-disturbing microbes that exist and live in the soil. Controls are often carried out, especially by using synthetic chemical agents. The chemical agents used are not only unique to soil-borne pathogen species, but also have not been able to reach the presence of these pathogens and are supported by the ability of the pathogen to form self-defense, and have a wide host range. Based on the biology of the pathogen, biological control has a good chance of success. Biological control is the protection of plants from plant pathogens including the spread of antagonistic microorganisms at the time after or before the occurrence of pathogen infection. The mechanism of biocontrol of organisms is to weaken or kill plant pathogens with resistance, namely parasitizing the pathogen directly, producing antibiotics (toxins), and their ability to compete for space and nutrients, production of enzymes to fight pathogenic cell components, inducing plant resistance responses, and production. plant metabolism in stimulating the germination of pathogenic spores. This study aims to find antagonistic microbial isolates in controlling stem rot disease (Ganoderma). This research was conducted in the oil palm plantation of PT. Astra Agro Lestari, basecamp PT.Gunung Sejahterah Mother Earth – PT. Agro Menara Rahmat (GSIP - AMR), Kumai Central Kalimantan and Plant Disease Research Center PT. GSIP 2. The research was conducted in 3 stages. First, survey of fit plants on healthy land and land infested with Ganoderma sp; second, laboratory experiments on the morphological and functional characterization of antagonistic fungi. Furthermore, analysis of diversity, abundance, and identification of isolated microbes was carried out using dilution and plating methods. Laboratory experiments were arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD). The results showed that the bacteria that were able to inhibit the Ganoderma boninense pathogen were found in blocks of 25 healthy land with plant age 18 years, the antagonist fungus was more abundant in the ganoderma-infested land than the land that was not infested with ganoderma.
