Abstract

This research was aimed at identifying the dominant sectors and imbalance of Patungraya region and their potential for a growth pole. The analysis applied the location quotient model and Scalogram technique. The research results show that Palembang had all dominant sectors except for those of agriculture and mining. The dominant sectors of Banyuasin included the ones in agriculture, industry, construction, hotels and restaurants. Ogan Ilir were dominant in the sectors of agriculture, construction, trade, hotels and restaurants, and Services. A high imbalance of sectors occurred in Palembang. Palembang was the growth pole o f Patungraya region
