Abstract

The objectives of this research are to know the performance of mining sector’s stocks at Indonesia Stock Exchange in period of May to August 2008 by Sharpe (RVAR), Treynor (RVOL) and Jensen (ap) method. Design of this research is in descriptive characteristics by taking 14 listing stock in mining sector as it samples. The data technique analysis that used in this research is quantitative and qualitative closure. The result of this research shows that not all of the performance of mining sector stocks is above the market performance in this case IH S S (Sectoral Stock Price Index) as the performance comparisons. For the obtained result of the measuring it will gives guidance to the investor that don’t only pay attention in retum level, but also pay attention in the risk level of the securities. For the samples company it’s suggest to gives a good image to the public to attract the investor to buy the stock that offer by the company by doing it’s liabilities such as paying the royalty, tax, etc.
