Abstract

The year 2020, precisely in January, began with the occurrence of a flood disaster in the DKI Jakarta. This incident was widely reported by the mass media, one of which was Kompas.com. This research will discuss the framing of news related to the January 2020 Jakarta flood on the online news Kompas.com. This research aims to describe how the news framing carried out by Kompas.com in reporting the January 2020 flood disaster. This reasearch used framing analysis Zhondang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki models. The results of this research indicate that the framing carried out by Kompas.com on the January 2020 Jakarta flood news is that Kompas.com tends to to lead to the government's powerlessness and lack of seriousness in dealing with flood disasters.
