Abstract

This research was conducted on the basis of the importance of performance appraisal for all organizations, both public organizations and business organizations. The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of South Sumatra Province as a public organization is involved in conducting performance assessments through P2KP every year. The application of the SMART method in targeting or SKP in P2KP The civil servants at the Regional Disaster Management Agency of South Sumatra Province have been good although they have not been implemented optimally as a whole. According to George T. Doran, so that performance appraisal does not cause conflict and misunderstanding, a method is needed as a guide in determining targets in performance appraisal. This study shows that the implementation of SMART in the performance targets in the P2KP is quite large. This study uses a type of qualitative research that aims to describe and describe the extent to which the SMART method is applied in determining performance targets in P2KP at the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of South Sumatra Province. The results of the study indicate that: (1) Dimension Specification (Specific) has not been successfully applied optimally. (2) Measurable Dimensions also still have shortcomings. (3) The Achievable Dimension has been successfully implemented in general. (4) The relevant dimension (Relevant) can be said to be successful. (5) The time dimension (Timely) has been clearly stated.
