Abstract

Penelitian mengenai “Isolasi, Karakterisasi, dan Identifikasi Kapang Endofitik Penghasil Metabolit Sekunder dari Brotowali (Tinospora crispa (L.) Miers)” ini telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2009 sampai dengan Januari 2010 di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi dan Laboratorium Kimia, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Sriwijaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh kapang endofitik penghasil metabolit sekunder dari Brotowali dan mengidentifikasinya berdasarkan karakter yang dimiliki. Sampel diambil dari Brotowali (batang dan daun) dan pencarian senyawa metabolit sekunder dilakukan dengan metode KLT. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu diperoleh lima isolat kapang yang berpotensi sebagai penghasil senyawa metabolit sekunder dari Brotowali. Kelima isolat tersebut adalah isolat BBi teridentifikasi sebagai Aspergillusfumigatus menghasilkan 2 senyawa fenolat, isolat BB3 teridentifikasi sebagai Aspergilus flavus dan isolat BB5 sebagai Cladosporium sp menghasilkan senyawa metabolit sekunder yang sama yaitu senyawa aromatik, isolat BB4 teridentifikasi sebagai Penicillium citrinum menghasilkan 1 senyawa aromatik dan 1 senyawa steroid, dan isolat BD4 teridentifikasi sebagai Aspergillus niger menghasilkan 1 senyawa terpenoid. Kata kunci: Brotowali, kapang endofitik, metabolit sekunder.
