Abstract

SUMMARY SEPTIA NURDIYANTI PRATAMA. Use of Clove Oil (Eugina aromatica) in Senggiringan Fish (Puntius johorensis) Transportation with a Closed System (Supervised by MOCHAMAD SYAIFUDIN and MARINI WIJAYANTI). Senggiringan fish (Puntius johorensis) that lives in the Musi River Basin. This fish is used by residents around the Musi River Basin as consumption fish and can also be used as aquarium ornamental fish. The purpose of this study is to determine the best concentration of clove oil for the survival of Senggiringan fish, blood glucose levels, and the level of oxygen consumption in closed transportation systems. This research was conducted in May 2021-June 2021. The research method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications, namely P0 (0 ml L-1), P1 (0.005 ml L-1), P2 ( 0.010 ml L-1), P3 (0.015 ml L-1), P4 (0.020 ml L-1) clove oil. The proceduress of this research were preparation of transportation containers and post-transport acclimatization, fish transportation, and post-transportation maintenance of Senggiringan fish. The results showed that the best survival was found in P3 (clove oil concentration 0.015 ml L-1), resulting the average post-transportation blood glucose level (88.53 mg dL-1), and the post-transportation average oxygen consumption level (1.35 mg O2 g-1 hour-1). The results of water quality measurements were, temperature 27.5-29.800C, pH 6-7, dissolved oxygen 4.25-6.98 mg L-1, ammonia 0.00-0.72 mg L-1.
