Abstract
Analysis of the ability students in determining the intrinsic elements of the Theme of Love of Animals and Plants Sub-themes of the Benefits of Animals for Human Life in Class III SD Negeri 1 Muara Enim. This research was conducted with a quantitative descriptive analysis method. Data were collected through interviews with teachers and tests in the form of multiple choice questions and descriptions to students. The results showedthat the ability of most of the students is in the sufficient category, with details of 1 people with a percentage of 5% being in the very good category. Furthermore, there are 6 people with a percentage of 30% in the good category. 10 people with a percentage of 50% are in the sufficient category. Then 3 person with a percentage of 15% is in the poor category. Thus, overall the ability students in determining the intrinsic elements of the Theme of Love of Animals and Plants Sub-themes of the Benefits of Animals for Human Life in Class III SD Negeri 1 Muara Enim is in a sufficient category. The intrinsic elements that students can determine correctly are elements characterization and mandate elements, 12 people (60%) can determine the characterization elements correctly, and 12 people (60%) were able to determine the mandate elements of the story appropriately. While the intrinsic elements that students can not determine correctly are elements of themes and viewpoint elements there were 14 people (70%) can not to determine the elements of the theme, and there were 12 people (70%) can not to determine the elements of the viewpoint. Further to reduce the difficulties of learners in analyzing the intrinsic elements of the school should add a book of reading especially fairy tales: it is done as one effort to further introduce fairy tales to learners and also as one of the steps in increasing interest in reading. And, teachers who teach intrinsic fairy tales materials must use a variety of interesting learning methods or media so that learners can better understand fairy-level elements.
