Abstract

L. leptocarpa is a tropical plant that belongs to the onagraceae family. The main compounds in this plant are triterpenoid, flavonoid, and gallic acid derivatives. This study was intended to isolate and determine compound from the n-hexane fraction of L. Leptocarpa’s stem, as determine the cytotoxycities by using BSLT method. Isolation was done by using maceration with methanol as the solvent and continued with separation and purification through various chromatographic techniques. Bith isolates were a while solid as much as 4,3 mg and 2,2 mg. Respectively the structure of isolated compound were determined based on spectroscopic data from IR , GC-MS , and compared with literature. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the major compound on isolates 1 is hexadecanoic acid and the major compound on isolates 2 is Olean-12-en-3,28-diol. The testing of cytotoxic activity was done by BSLT method. Isolates 1 categorized as inactive cytotoxic cause of LC50 > 100, while the isolates 2 is active cytotoxic cause of LC50 < 100 with amount 78,86 μg/mL.
