Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is a health problem that can affect anyone, including the productive age group, the productive age group is often found in industries, one of which is the coal industry of PT.Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk Kertapati Pier Unit Palembang. This Study aims to analyze the risk factors for the incidence of acute respiratory infections including dust exposure, working period, length of exposure and smoking habits among field workers at PT.Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk Kertapati Pier Unit Palembang. This quantitative research method uses a cross sectional reseaech design with an analytical observational approach and uses the sample random sampling (SRS). Data analysis was carried out in stages, namely univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using chi-square test and multivariate analisys of predictive model logistic regression. The results show that there is a relationship between dust exposure(p-value <0.0001), duration of exposure (p-value 0.019), and smoking habits (p-value <0,0001) and there is no relationship between years of service and the incidence of ARI in field workers at PT.Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk Kertapati Pier Unit Palembang. The conclusion from this study is that the majority of ARIin the last 3 months (60,8%), this figure is higher than the incidence of ARI in the last 3 months (39,2), there are 3 variables to the incidence of ARI are dust exposure,duration of exposure variable being the most dominant variable related to the incidence of ARI in workers PR=18.702. Recommendation form this study, workers should use spray water at work at least 2 times a day or before and after work.
