Abstract

MDR TB is TB with strains that are resistant to isoniazid and rifampicin which are the most effective as antiretroviral drugs with or without other drugs. Long treatment and varied OATs are often the reasons for stopping drugs in patients and causing the high incidence of MDR TB and low rates of treatment success, especially in Indonesia. Drug utilization pattern study by 52 sample. Samples were drawn using the total sampling method which was adjusted to the existing criteria based on the patient's medical record data at Dr. RSUP. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang period October 2018 to December 2019. The data were analyzed descriptively using the SPSS version 25 program, presented in the form of a frequency distribution table. In patients with MDR TB at Dr. RSUP. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang, the period October 2018-December 2019 was obtained from 52 subjects there were found the pattern of using OAT in this study was rational based on the accuracy of the dose, frequency and duration of administration in 52 people (100%). Furthermore there were found of weakness, nausea and vomiting in 44 people (84.6%), arthagia and hyperuricemia and hearing loss in 22 people (42.3%). Major side effects were more common in the short-term regimen than the long-term with a proportion of 21 people (40.4%) in the short-term regimen and 4 people (7.7%) in the long-term regimen. The pattern of using OAT in this study was rational and most common side effects in MDR TB patients are weakness, nausea and vomiting.
