Abstract

The research was to synthesize NiFe2O4, CoFe2O4, Fe3O4nanomagnetic and NiFe2O4-PEG 4000, CoFe2O4-PEG 4000, Fe3O4-PEG 4000Nanocompocite. Synthesis is done using coprecipitation method, PEG is used as template.The best magnetic properties of adsorbent applied to adsorp Pb (II) ions. Characterization is done by using Vibrating Sample Magnetometry (VSM) to find the magnetic properties of nanomagnetic and nanocomposite. The result of characterization using VSM showed magnetization saturation (Ms) for NiFe2O4 of 17.53 emu/g, CoFe2O4 13.29 emu/g, and Fe3O4 64.75 emu/g nanomagnetic, while NiFe2O4-PEG 400010.28 emu/g, CoFe2O4-PEG 400012.83 emu/g, and Fe3O4-PEG 4000 44.75 emu/g. Adsorbent which has the best magnetic properties is characterized using SEM-EDS and FTIR. The characterization of Fe3O4and Fe3O4-PEG 4000 with FTIR showed the formation of tetrahedral site of Fe3O4 nanomagnetic at 586.3 cm-1 and Fe3O4- PEG 4000 nanocomposite area 574.7 cm-1, while the octahedral site of Fe3O4 nanomagnetic in area of 443.6 cm-1 and nonocomposite Fe3O4-PEG 4000 area 385.7 cm-1. The characterization by SEM should in a surface size of Fe3O4 of 68 nm and Fe3O4-PEG 4000 7 nm. EDS for Fe3O4 and Fe3O4-PEG 4000 showed a mayor element content of Fe and O. The adsorption of Fe3O4and Fe3O4-PEG 4000 to Pb (II) ions following Langmuir isotherms with adsorption capacity of 3.58 mg/g and 5.65mg/g.
