Abstract

Biochar-Fe3O4 composite has been successfully synthesized and characterizad using XRD, VSM, dan FTIR. The biochar in this study was made from wood sawdust and composited with Fe3O4 using theCo-precipitationmethod. Biochar-Fe3O4 composite used as adsorbent in the adsorption of phosphate ions studied through parameters of contact time and concentration phosphate ion. The optimum condition for phosphate ion adsorption was obtain at 60 minutes with a biochar-Fe3O4 composite weight of 0.05 g and the optimum concentration at a concentration 40 mg/L with an adsorption capacity of 14.468 mg/L. The adsorption kinetics that are suitable in this study are Pseudo Second Order and Freudlich isoterm aquation.
