Abstract
The research is located in Tanjung Bonai Aur Area, Sumpurkudus Subdistrict, Sijunjung Regency, West Sumatra Province with an area of research covering 25 km2 and in geology, the research lies in the Ombilin Basin. This research is purpose to identified the geological condition and safety factor in area of research. In this study several research methods were carried out, including literature studies, field data collection, laboratory analysis and data processing. The geomorphology of the study area is divided into five geomorphic units, namely Perbukitan Terdenudasi Lereng Sangat Curam (PT), Perbukitan Rendah Terdenudasi Lereng Curam (PRT), Dataran Tinggi Terdenudasi Lereng Datar (DTT), Dataran Banjir (FB), and Tubuh Sungai (FS). The stratigraphy in the study area is divided into four sequences from old to young, namely Diorite Quartz, Sawahtambang Formation, Ombilin Formation and Ranau Formation. There are also geological structures that develop, namely the Kumanis Fault, Puntian Syncline, Kumanis Anticline and joints. The slope conditions of the study sites are flat to steep with a height ranging from 140-240 m, most of the land is used as plantations and rice fields. The slope observation location is located at five (5) points in the Tanjung Bonai Aur area with slopes which range from 0o - 55oand separated by the Sinamar river. Lithology was composed by fine tuffs and obtained Fk values (safety factors) in the study location, namely >1 which indicates a safe slope classification. Geological history in the study area is divided into five times, namely Pre-Tertiary occurs by Diorit Quartz, Early Oligocene – Late Oligocene deposited Sawahtambang Formation and compression tectonic activity occurs so that joints structure is formed, Early Miocene deposited Ombilin Formation which is characterized by sea water transgressions, the extension phase results in a fault structure and the compression phase produces syncline and anticline, at the Paleocene deposited Tuffs Ranau Formation and the denudational occurs that forms morphology in the present.
