Abstract

PT. X is a company engaged in the plantation and processing of palm oil that produces CPO (Crude Palm Oil), the processing production is carried out at 11 stations involving the use of machines and equipment that are potentially hazardous to the safety and health of workers due to the risks posed. The purpose of the study was to identify the OHS risk management process in the palm oil processing production process at PT. X . This study uses a descriptive design with a qualitative method approach. Information obtained through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document review. The method used is the HIRARC table and standard risk management BSI-British Standard Institution. The validity test was carried out through triangulation of sources, methods, and data. The results of the identification of K3 hazards at 11 stations were categorized into safety and health hazards, risk assessments were categorized into Low, High, Medium, and Very High Risk, and risk control based on the control hierarchy, most of the most common hazards found were mechanical hazards. The highest risk from the 11 stations, namely very high risk, includes being struck by lightning from the weighbridge, being hit by a lorry, being trapped by a lorry, being pinched by a conveyor, falling into a CPO tank, fire, Overpressure, Water hummer, electrocuted by high voltage, trapped in an adapting pipe, explosion due to steam operation error, being run over by a lorry, falling from a height, entangled in a nylon rope/sling. The risk assessment contains 245 potential hazards, namely 41 potential hazards with a Very High Risk level, 53 potential hazards with a High Risk level, 9 potential hazards with a Medium Risk level, 142 potential hazards with a Low Risk level. Recommendations for control that can be carried out are completing work procedures, working according to SOPs, immediately repairing damaged facilities, equipment, or machines, adding facilities and infrastructure according to standards that can protect workers from potential hazards, conducting periodic checks, increasing the intensity of cleanliness, increasing efforts promotion and K3 programs, improve supervision of workers and the work environment, adjustment of working hours and workload.
