Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the effect of government spending In education of free school program and road and bridge infrastructure on the poverty levels in 15 districts / cities in South Sumatera. In this study, using a quantitative approach.The data used were the panel which were a combination of time series and cross section of the period of 2010 to 2016. The model in this study was estimated by means of multiple linear regression analysis with panel data using Fixed Effect Model. The results of the analysis of this study showed that government spending on education and infrastructure had a significant negative effect on the poverty levels in South Sumatera. R2 value obtained in this study was 0.939755, which means 93.9% of poverty level variables influenced by government spending variables in education and infrastructure that exist in the model, while the remaining 6.1% influenced by other factors outside the model.
