Abstract

Pemanfaatan tanah yang kurang subur seperti gambut memerlukan berbagai masukan seperti bahan organik, pupuk dan pengelolaan yang tepat. Untuk itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari dan menentukan takaran dan kombinasi a melioran, dan pupuk N P yang terbaik pengaruhnya terhadap biorespirasi, pertumbuhan dan produksi padi di tanah gambut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari bulan Agustus 2005 sampai April 2006 di Rumah Kaca Jurusan Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sriwijaya, dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial dengan 3 faktor perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama yaitu taraf amelioran A0 (tanpa) dan Al (5 ton ha'1). Faktor kedua adalah U.raf pupuk 'N terdiri atas 0, 50, 100 kg N ha'1 yang disimbolkan dengan N0. Nl dan N2. Faktor ketiga yaitu taraf pupuk P (0, 50, 100 kg P7O5 ha'1) dilambangkan dengan P0, P1 dan P2.. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi antara A0N2P2 memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap berat kering trubus tanaman padi pada tanah gambut. Adapun interaksi antara pupuk N P. dan amelioran berpengaruh nyala terhadap bio respirasi dan pertumbuhan padi pada tanah gambut. Kombinasi terbaik untuk bio respirasi didapat pada A1N2P2, untuk pertumbuhan tanaman padi diperoleh pada perlakuan A|N|P|, sedangkan untuk komponen produksi tanaman padi diperoleh pada perlakuan A|NjP| untuk berat gabah kering giling dan A0N,P, untuk berat 100 butir gabah.
