Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai efek kafein terhadap jumiah eritrosit dan kadar hemoglobin mencit (Mus musculus L.) Swiss Webster. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek kafein terhadap jumlah eritrosit dan kadar hemoglobin mencit (Mus musculus L.) Swiss Webster. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama bulan September 2009 hingga November 2009, di Laboratorium Fisiologi Hewan, Jurursan Biologi, Fakultas Matamatika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universutas Sriwijaya, Inderalaya. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dengan 6 kali ulangan yaitu kontrol, dosis 0,25 mg/0,1 ml akuades/10 g bb, dosis 0,50 mg/0,1 ml akuades/10 g bb, dan dosis 0,75 mg/0,1 ml akuades/10 g bb. Data yang didapatkan dianalisis dengan ANAVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terjadi penurunan jumlah eritrosit dan kadar hemoglobin mencit yang kurang signifikan, sehingga setelah dianalisis dengan uji statistik hasilnya berpengaruh tidak nyata antar tiap perlakuan Kata Kunci: Kafein, Mencit (Mus musculus L.), Eritrosit, dan Hemoglobin.
