Abstract
Hydroxyapatite is one of the most important calcium carbonate ingredients of the inorganic components of bones and teeth in humans. HA/PVA composite with cold sintering method with compression variations of 400,500, and 600 MPa has been successfully made, the manufacture of HA/PVA composite begins with the process of mixing HA and PVA powder with variations in the existing composition, the mixing process is carried out for 1 hour, using a magnetic stirrer. , then the mixed HA and PVA powder was put into the mold for compaction process with pressure variations starting from 400 Mpa with a temperature of 120°C. Then an X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) test was carried out which showed the formed phases were hydroxyapatite and Polyvinyl Alcohol,For the density test, the lowest porosity was obtained at a pressure of 600 MPa, the compressive test obtained the highest compressive value of 41.2500 MPa, and the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observation showed that there were cracks on the surface of the specimen which became micron-sized porosity
