Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the social dimension of bullyed victims in SMP Negeri 9 Palembang. In this study there were two students selected to be the subjects of the research. The method of this research was qualitative. Data collection techniques used questionnaire, structured interview address conducted with subjects, close friends of subject, homeroom and parents, observations were made to collect data on social skills of subjects. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman model which included data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results of data analysis showed that from the five dimensions of social skills there was only one dimension that found the high result of the dimension of compliance, but for the other four dimensions included peer relationships, self-management, academic ability, and assertive behavior showed low results, it could be concluded that both subjects had low social skills. Thus, the subject could not prevent and overcome the bullying that occurred for them self.
