Abstract

This study was aimed to analyze the impact of the Federal Fund Rate on Monetary Policy and Macroeconomic in ASEAN-3 Countries (Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand). Monetary policy in this study is reflected by interest policy rate and macroeconomic in this study is reflected by the exchange rate, economic growth, and inflation. The data used in this study uses secondary data in the form of data time series with a quarterly scale from 2002: Q1-2019: Q4. The data was obtained from Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED), International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, and Trading Economics. The analytical method used in this research is qualitative and quantitative analysis using the Structural Vector Autoregression (SVAR) method. Based on the results of SVAR estimation, it can be concluded that Federal Fund Rate has a positive and significant impact on interest policy rate in Indonesia and Thailand while for the Philippines it has a positive and insignificant impact. The impact of the Federal Funds Rate is positive and significant on the exchange rates of the Philippines and Thailand, while for the State of Indonesia it has a negative and significant impact. The Federal Fund Rate has a positive and significant impact on economic growth in Indonesia, Philippines, and Thailand. The Federal Fund Rate has a positive and significant impact on inflation in Indonesia and Thailand, while for the Philippines it has a negative and significant impact.
