Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan larva Coccinella arcuata instar I, II, III, IV, imago jantan dan imago betina dalam memangsa Aphis gossypii. Penelitian dilakukan di rumah kaca Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sriwijaya. Indralaya, dimulai dari bulan Juni sampai bulan Juli 2004. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa larva C. arcuata instar keempat memiliki kemampuan memangsa lebih tinggi dibandingkan instar pertama, kedua dan ketiga. Persentase rata-rata kemampuan memangsa dari larva C. arcuata instar keempat setelah 12 jam rata-rata 93,34 lebih tinggi dibandingkan instar pertama (rata-rata 49,17), instar kedua (rata-rata 56,67), dan instar ketiga (rata-rata 78,33). Kemampuan memangsa imago C. arcuata betina rata-rata 93,50.
