Abstract

The increasingly widespread spread of the Covid-19 pandemic requires everyone to be disciplined in implementing health protocols, the implementation of the Large-Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) policy has encouraged socio-economic changes, including in the agricultural sector. Responding to these conditions, farmers in several cases made behavioral changes in an effort to survive in a pandemic situation by practicing behaviors that were not normally done before Covid-19. Pulo Kerto Village is one of the areas that has agricultural land with an area of 6,000 hectares of rice fields and is the largest in Gandus District, Palembang City. This study aims to: 1) Knowing rice farmers' perceptions of efforts to prevent the transmission of Covid-19, 2) Knowing changes in social behavior of rice farmers before and during the Covid-19 pandemic, 3) Knowing changes in rice farmers' economic behavior before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. -19. The results of this study are: 1) Rice farmers' perceptions of efforts to prevent Covid-19 transmission are in the high category with a score of 28.76, 2) Changes in the social behavior of rice farmers occur in indicators of knowledge, attitudes and skills based on the Wilcoxon test results on each indicator obtained value Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000, 3) Changes in the economic behavior of rice farmers based on the paired-sample difference test occurred in the production costs of rice farming, total income and total allocation of working time for the family of farmers as indicated by the value of Sig. (2-tailed) is less than 0.05.
