Abstract
The cause of climate change is the greenhouse effect that has let various adverse impacts on sectors of life. In this situation, Greta Thunberg demand climate justice with the protest whose grew into a social movement called Friday For Future. This movement is increasing rapidly across national borders as one of the global social movements. Germany is one of the pioneer countries to prevent climate change in the Paris Agreement but now is considered as a country that lags in fulfilling its responsibilities in controlling the problem of greenhouse gases. This research aims to explain how the Friday For Future movement could successfully overcome the greenhouse gas problem which is the main problem of the environment for German society. The researcher uses Global Social Movements Theory to explain how these movements can move across national boundaries. In this research, the researcher uses three elements by Meyer and Staggenborg to look at the strategies used by the Friday For Future in achieving their goals, namely demand, arena, and tactic. The research method used here is the Qualitative method. The results of this research indicate that the Friday For Future movement has encouraged changes in people's attitudes as indicated by the involvement of the wider community in protest, progressing the issue of greenhouse gases as one of the political agendas in the German government, urging the government to take action for climate changes with forming climate cabinet, and quicken the ratification of the Climate Protection Act.
