Abstract

Penelitian tentang “Asosiasi spesies pada berbagai tingkatan pertumbuhan dalam komunitas tumbuhan di kawasan pengendapan tailing Mile Post (MP) 19 PT Freeport Indonesia kabupaten Mimika Papua”, dilakukan pada bulan Februari 2010 hingga Mei 2010. Metode sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode jalur transek. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di kawasan pengendapan tailing MP 19 PT Freeport Indonesia, yang daerahnya terbagi menjadi lahan tergenang dan lahan kering. Parameter yang diamati yaitu Jenis-jenis spesies tumbuhan yang terdiri atas tingkatan vegetasi pohon (diameter setinggi dada (1,3 m) >20 cm), tiang (diameter 10-20 cm), pancang (permudaan yang tingginya >1,5 m sampai pohon muda dengan diameter dengan tingkat asosiasi tertinggi diantara pasangan spesies lain, dimana Indeks Jaccard sebesar 0,63, sedangkan pada lahan kering MP 19, Imperata cylindrica dengan Equisetum debile dan F.armitii miq dengan Glochidion macrocarpa adalah pasangan spesies dengan tingkat asosiasi tertinggi diantara pasangan spesies lain dengan indeks Jaccard 0,47 Kata kunci: asosiasi, komunitas tumbuhan, tailing dan PT Freeport Indonesia
