Abstract

This aims of this research was to find out the effect of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) from Kepok banana stems with Addition of a Bioactivator to The Growth and Yield of Caisim (Brassica juncea L.) in Hydroponic system. The research was conducted at the Hydroponics House, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra from June to September 2021. The research used Randomized block design (RBD) with 5 treatments and 6 replications. The treatments were P1: LOF of Kepok banana stems 4,7 kg/18 liters + EM4 40 ml/18 liters anaerobically fermented; P2: LOF of Kepok banana stems 4,7 kg/18 liters + Biofitalik 29 ml/18 liters + Trichoderma 30 g/ 18 liters anaerobically fermented; P3: LOF of Kepok banana stems 4,7 kg/18 liters + EM4 40 ml/18 liters + Molasses 17 ml/18 liters aerobically fermented; P4: LOF of Kepok banana stems 4,7 kg/18 liters + Molasses 17 ml/18 liters + Biofitalik 29 ml/18 liters + Trichoderma 30 g/18 liters aerobically fermented; and P5: AB Mix 100%. The parameters observed in this research were the height of plant, the number of leaves, the greenish level of leaves, the length of the plant roots, shoot fresh weight, root fresh weight, shoot dry weight, and root dry weight. The results showed that the effect of using liquid organic fertilizer on kepok banana stems with the addition of a bioactivator had not been able to completely or partially replace the nutrients of AB Mix. This can be seen from all the observed parameters which show lower and significantly different results compared to the data due to the control treatment (AB Mix). Hydroponic nutrition from kepok banana stems with the addition of anaerobically fermented EM4 bioactivator without regard to the AB Mix treatment gave relatively better results than the aerobic treatment.
