Abstract
Due to the widespread spread of COVID-19, the government finally issued Circular Letter of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 2 of 2020, concerning the prevention and handling of COVID-19, which requires all schools to carry out online or online learning. The use of this method causes many obstacles experienced by students when carrying out learning. The purpose of this research is to find out what are the factors that hinder students in carrying out online learning. The research subjects were students of class XI and XII of SMK Sumsel. Research data were collected through questionnaires, interviews and documentation, and analyzed descriptively quantitatively and qualitatively. The results in this study indicate that the average total index of student barriers in online learning for lathe engineering subjects is 69.75% in the high category. Indicators of technical factors (73.44%), implementation of learning (73.35%) and external factors (62.46%).
