Abstract

In carrying out their duties and authorities as public officials, notaries have to be supemsed so that the activities carried out by notaries are still in line with the rules and the code of ethics for notaries. In terms of supervision, the Notary Supervis'ory Board is authorized to carry out the supervisory function. Work procedures for the authorities of the Regional Supervisory Council include the examination of deed minute-taking, the examination of notary summons in the judicial process, the examination of public reports regarding alleged violations of the Code of Ethics by notaries or regulations regarding notary position, the review of notary protocol. With these authorities, some problems arise regarding the roles of the Regional Supervisory Council in supervising the administration of Palembang City Notary Offce and the factors that hinder the roles of the Regional Supervisory Council in supervising the administration of Palembang City Notary Office. This study used an empirical method to collect field data at the time of examination. The Regional Supervisory Council carries out its authorities in accordance with the applicable rules and encounters several obstacles related to its supervisory duties, especially the time issue. Therefore, in carrying out its duties and position, the Regional Supervisory Council should adjust supervision schedules with its various members from academics, notaries and other members. In addition, in carrying out the are several other obstacles such as unexpected activities, lack of co ination between frotaries and supervisory board, and other obstacles in responding to ey pyobjems The supervisory board should reschedule the supervision by adjusting syhedulestsø yfitiöthe future the implementation of supervision could run better and more smoothly.
