Abstract
This study aims to determine the most effective priming treatment to increase the vigor and viability of the seeds of curly chili seeds that have expired. The research was conducted from March to May 2021 at the Seed and Greenhouse Technology Laboratory, Department of Agricultural Cultivation, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The research method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments and 3 replications on 2 research unit of expired (K) and not expired (T) seeds. The treatments consisted of A = 100% Aquades, B = Treatment with NaCl 1 gram/L, C = Treatment with KNO3 2 grams/L, D = Treatment with H2SO4 2 ml/L, D = PEG 6000 250 grams/L, and F = Treatment with Urea Fertilizer 1 gram/L. Parameters observed in the nursery were germination, growth synchronously, growth speed, germination index, stem length, root length, germination dry weight, observed in nurseries were plant height, number of leaves, and stem diameter. The results showed that the immersion treatment with aquades gave the best results on some parameters of expired seeds and H2SO4 gave the best results on some parameters the seeds have not expired.
