Abstract

The objectives of the research were to investigate fruit-flies species attack on chilli, population of adult fruit-flies appear from one chilli and parasitoid speciesattack on fruit-flies in swamp area.This research was conducted from December 2006 to April 2007 in Indralayadistrict. The method used in the research was survey method with three villages andnine farmers. From a farmer was taken 12 chilli samples in different sizes.The result showed that only one species of fruit-flies attacked on chilli inswamp area was Bactrocera dorsalis. The parasitoids found were Psyttalia fletcheri, Psyttalia incisi, Psyttalia fijiensis and one species of Braconidae family. The highest population of parasitoid was P. fletcheri. Total number of fruit-flies in fruit of chilli was influenced by fruit sizes. The biggest of chilli sizes, the highest emergence of the fruit-flies.
