Abstract

This thesis is titled Management of Protection Forests by Indigenous Peoples in Parit Tiga District, West Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Province. Protected forest management in this case is an area that has the main function as protection of human life support systems to regulate water management, prevent flooding, control erosion, prevent sea water instruction, and maintain soil fertility. Protected forest management is something that must be done in order to create goals that are regulated by the law, so that they can better support efforts to improve the welfare of the surrounding community and the existence of the environment itself. Protected forest management must also be considered given that there are still many people who depend on the forest to live and make the forest as a place for farming. The existence of the forest is the carrying capacity of all aspects of life, the forest being a medium of mutual relations between humans and other living things. The research method used is empirical conducted by conducting field research in the District of Parit Tiga, West Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Province. The results of the discussion of this thesis are the management of protected forests, against public awareness, and the things that occur in the management of protected forests. Public awareness must be increased given what has happened (das sollen) or actually (das sein).
