Abstract

The objective of this study was to investigate the species of atsiric oil for attractant of fruit flies and to know the species of fruit flies on cucumber. The research was conducted at five locations cucumber field at Kenten, Musi Banyuasin ffom April to May 2007. The research was arranged in Completely Randomized Block Design with five treatments and five replications. The parameters were amount of fruit flies, species of fruitflies, the effectivity period of atsiric oil. The results obtained were two species of fruit flies i.e Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel) dan Bactrocera cucurbitae (Coquilett). The average number of fruit flies trapped on methyl eugenol was 126.2; on Syzygium aromaticum extract was 93.2; Cinnamomum camphora extract was 70.8; on Apium graveolens extract was 33.4; and on Ocimum canum extract was 16.4.
