Abstract

The objectives of this research are: 1) Identifying the socio-economic status characteristics of tidal rice farmers in Banyu Urip Village, Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency, 2) Calculating the level of income that received by tidal rice farmers in Banyu Urip Village, Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency, 3) Analyzing the prosperity level of tidal rice farmers in Banyu Urip Village, Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency. This research was conducted in Banyu Urip Village, Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency. Location selection taken intentionally with survey method on Maret 2019. Sampels of this research was simpel random sampling as many as 42 people from the total of 640 farmers . Data collection methods are primary data and secondary data. Based on the results of research, the social characteristics of tidal rice farmers with a total average score is 13.05 are included in low criteria. The economic characteristics of tidal rice farmers with a total average score is 26.02 are included in medium criteria. The average income of farmers from tidal rice farming is Rp. 24.473.570 per cultivated area per year, from corn farming is Rp. 17.365.607 per cultivated area per year, and from off-farm is Rp. 12.885.714 per year. The decent living needs of farmers are Rp. 4.010.071 per month with household income of Rp. 4.561.788 per month. According to mathematics and statistics, the household income of rice farmers has fulfilled the standard of decent living needs and included prosperous.
