Abstract

The transformation of farming patterns in saving peatlands is a government program through the peat restoration agency, which will carry out Rewetting (wetting), Revegetation (planters), Revitalization (improvement of welfare). This study aims to (1) identify farming patterns carried out by farmers in the peatland rescue program in Air Balui Village, Sanga Desa District, Musi Banyuasin Regency, (2) Measure farmers' perceptions of the transformation of farming patterns in the peatland rescue program in Air Village. Balui, Sanga Desa Subdistrict, Musi Banyuasin Regency, (3) Analyzing the strategy of transforming farming patterns in accordance with the peatland rescue program in Air Balui Village, Sanga Desa Subdistrict, Musi Banyuasin Regency. This research was conducted in Air Balui Village, Sanga Village District. Data collection in the field was carried out from February 2021 to April 2021. The method used in this study was a survey method with questionnaires and direct interviews. The sampling method in this study used random sampling and the Slovin formula with a total of 35 farmers taking samples, each representing the population in Air Balui Village. The data collected in this study are primary data and secondary data. The results of this study indicate that. Identification of farming patterns on peatlands in Air Balui Village, Musi Banyuasin Regency, respondents applied a cropping pattern, namely, most of the types of cropping patterns were monoculture. The plants cultivated by the respondents are oil palm plantations. Respondents' perceptions of the transformation program of farming patterns in saving peatlands in Air Balui Village, through rewetting, revegetation, revitalization that is, both seen on the criteria of strongly agree and agree. SWOT analysis regarding the strategy for transforming farming patterns in accordance with the peatland rescue program in Air Balui Village, Sanga Desa Subdistrict is an S-O strategy.
