Abstract

The objectives of the research were the assess effect of repelency red ginger towards Sitophilus zeamais Motsch (Coleoptera.Curculionidae) feeding on maize grain in Laboratory. The research was conducted in Entomological Laboratory, Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, from September to Oktober 2004. The Methods of the research was using Completiy Randomized Design with six treatment (0.0 g, 0.2 g, 0.4 g, 0.6 g, 0.8 g, 1.0 g) and four replicates. The result showed that treatment with 0.2 g had significant effect to reduce insect attact and increase insect mortality.
