Abstract
Fruit flies destroy various plants and can cause up to 70% damage on Control method have been applied, especially used of environmental biocontrol method by releasing natural enemies. For average. friendly methods e.g. satisfying results, knowledge of bioecology and behavior of fruil flies and its parasitoids play important roles. This experiment conducted on July 2007 was aimed to monitor fruit flies imago population and its damage on red chili farm in lowland area. Fruil flies trappcd in modified Stciner traps. Damage fruit were kept in laboratory. The severity of damage was determined. Fruit flies identified is Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel). The highest population was found on 15 week after planting red chili 16,21 adult/trap/plot. The severesl percentage of damage and apparenl parasitism rate were 23,48%.
