Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan personality trait neuroticism dan fear of negative evaluation pada wanita dewasa awal yang mengalami overweight. Hipotesis dari penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan antara personality trait neuroticism dan fear of negative evaluation pada wanita dewasa awal yang mengalami overweight. Partisipan pada penelitian ini merupakan 100 wanita dewasa awal yang mengalami overweight pada rentang usia 18-25 tahun. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik purposive sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan skala fear of negative evaluation dengan mengacu pada indikator dari Watsons & Friends (1969) dan menggunakan skala personality trait neuroticism dengan mengacu aspek dari McCrae dan Costa (2006) Analisis data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis korelasi pearson’s product moment. Dari hasil analisis tersebut menunjukkan data nilai R Square sebesar 0,748 dan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p<0,005). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa personality trait neuroticism memiliki hubungan yang positif dengan fear of negative evaluation, dengan demikian hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini diterima.
