Abstract

Penelitian tentang “Struktur Komunitas Makrozoobentos di Sungai Gasing”Talang Kelapa, Kabupaten Banyuasin Sumatera Selatan” dilaksanakan dari bulan Maret sampaiSeptember 2010. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tentang makrozoobentoskomunitas dan komposisi yang meliputi kepadatan, keragaman, dominasi dan kesamaanindeks. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan metode Purposive Random Sampling. Identifikasi sampel macrozoobenthos dilakukan di Laboratorium Fisiologi dan Taksonomi Hewan Departemen Biologi, Fakultas MIPA Sriwijaya Universitas. Dari hasil ini setidaknya ditemukan enam genus dari empat kelas: Crustacea, Gastropoda, Insekta, dan Oligochaeta. Kelimpahan makrozoobentos tertinggi adalah ditemukan di stasiun 1 : 875 ind/m2. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman makrozoobentos adalah mengkategorikan level rendah, mulai dari 0,065 sampai dengan 0,287. Nilai indeks dominasi makrozoobentos berkisar antara 0,531 sampai 0,944. Indeks kesamaan makrozoobentos berkisar antara 33% - 100%. Kata Kunci: Struktur Komunitas, Makrozoobentos, Sungai Gasing
