Abstract

In the situation of the Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) pandemic, the University of Sriwijaya issued the policy from Rector Number: 0058 UN9/SK.BUK.KU/2020 concerning the Mechanism of Determining the Obligation for Payment of Tuition Fees (UKT) in the Corona Virus Disease Pandemic Period (Covid-19) at Sriwijaya University. This policy has an economic impact on Sriwijaya University student 's, therefore this study aims to determine the economic impact of the Tuition Fee (UKT) Mechanism policy during the Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) pandemic for students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Sriwijaya University, Palembang campus batch 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques in the form of documentation and interviews. This study uses the theory of policy impact analysis according to Anderson, which can be assessed using two dimensions, namely: the expected and unintended consequences, and the indirect cost impact. The results of this study indicate that the policy is still far from being fair and unequal to the economy of Sriwijaya University students, especially the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Sriwijaya University, Palembang Campus, 2016 2017, 2018, and 2019.
