Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the ability of plant growth promotion fungi isolates Fusarium spp., and sterile fungi to suppress the development and growth of Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn. caused damping off disease in eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) in seedling and to know the ability of those isolates to increasing the plant growth. The data was analyzed as descriptif and described as tabulation. The observation consits of the percentage of damping off attack, intensity of disease, increasing of seed height and also increasing of seed fresh weight. The plant growth promotion fungi isolates in the research were 21 isolates of Fusarium spp., and 2 isolates of Sterile fungi. The results showed that isolates of Fusarium spp., and Sterile fungi had a various ability for suppression damping-off. The average of percentage of disease severity and intensity in the seedling treated with Fusarium spp., isolates were 31,54% and 64,44% respectively. While seedling treated with Sterile fungi were 37,5% and 84,43%. Treatment with plant growth promotion fungi could also increased seedling height and fresh weight. The results showed the potensial of Fusarium spp., against R. solani were 41,08% and 43,75% and Sterile fungi were 49,87% and 55,84%.
