Abstract
The objectives of the research was to study the effects of pepper powdei un the percentage of damaged com, mortality and adult population S. zeamais in laboratory.. The research was conducted in Entomology Laboratory Depannent of Plant Pests and Disease Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from December2004 to February 2005.The research was arranged in a Completely Randomesid Design with fourThe treatments were: control, 0.25g pepperreplications and six treatments.powder/lOOg com, 0.50g pepper powder/lOOg com, 0.75g pepper powder/lOOgcom, i .00g pepper powder/1 OOg com, and 1.25g pepper powder/1 OOg com.pepper powaer witn dose 0;25g could increase the mortality of adult,decresed the adult population and percentage of attack the com beetle. Dose pepper powder alTected to adult mortality reach 100% at three weeks with dose l.OOg pepper powder/1 OOg com and dose 0.25g pepper powder/lOOg com adult mortality reached at five week.
