Abstract
This research aimed to know the aphid species diversity of estate plantation and to know the natural enemy and ant which associate with aphid. This research used survey method, by collecting the aphid. There were 9 crops to be observed, they were Camellia sinensis L. (tea), Cocos nucifera L. (coconut), Coffea canephora L. (coffea), Cinnamomum burmani BL. (cinnamon), Elaeis guineensis Jacq. (palm oil), Hevea brcisiliensis Mull. (rubber), Saccharum officinarum L. (sugar cane), Tectona grandis L.F. (teak) and Theobroma cacao L. (cocoa). The result of this research showed among 9 species of crops, there were 8 crops associate with aphid. It could be found one to three species aphids at one species of crop. Three species of aphid were found in T. cacao they were Sinomegoura citricola (van der Goot), Toxoptera aurantii (Boyer de Fonscolombe) and Cervaphis scouteniae (Van der Goot). The species of aphid found on tea was Toxoptera aurantii (Boyer de Fonscolombe), on coconut and palm oil was Hysteroneura setariae (Thomas), on cinnamon was Sinomegoura sp. (Takahashi), on sugar cane was Melanaphis sacchari (Zehntner), on teak was Aphis gossypii (Glover) and on coffea was Toxoptera aurantii (Boyer de Fonscolombe). It could be found a same species of aphid in a host crop in a family. It could be found a same species of aphid in a different species of host crop. The existence of ant could become the indicator of aphid existence in a crop. The existence of natural enemy i n aphid colony showed a tight connection with the existence of ant. The opportunity of natural enemy found in an aphid colony was small i f there were ants i n that colony.
